The meeting with Dr Proctor went well. My insurance will pay with no waiting period. Now I have to get my criteria met in time to have the surgery before high season at work, or I will have to wait until next year. I am excited about the process. I am a little scared, but I feel it is the right decision.
My doctor's orders for now:
Absolutely no carbonated drinks.
No liquid 1 hour before or after a meal. (liquid pushes food on through, you will eat less without fluids)
Eat my protein first and chew, chew, chew.
Join a water aerobics class.
I have consent forms to sign, a book to read, and a test to take and turn in. I have to get a psych evaluation and go to support meetings (at least one before my surgery). And I have to choose a support person and have them read the info and sign forms also.
I have thought about this surgery for years. Everyone says I will not look back and that I will wish I had done it when I first thought about it. We'll see. But at least, it has me getting back to a better eating plan. I would rather loose some weight before the surgery than gain more. I am determined to not go on an eating binge because "I won't be able to eat like this again." That would be easy to do.
